Making a Difference!

Making a Difference is where we put our faith into action.
St. Mary's Dispensary, Tanzania

Following on from my reporting a talk given at Charnwood Fellowship on the work of a local Charity (Loughborough) 'Intercare', Derby Unitarians have made the decision to sponsor a Clinic in Africa.

The chosen clinic is St. Mary's Dispensary in the Moshi region of Tanzania, a remote and often isolated clinic serving a population of 4,000, many migrant Masai. The clinic has 10 beds including maternity and male and female medical beds. It is supervised by a single nurse with a visiting doctor from Kibosho Hospital.

We shall have a retiring collection on the 4th Sunday of each month, which will be sent via Intercare on a monthly basis.

Compassion: Sponsor a Child

The Derby congregation is helping to make a difference in the life of a child, by sponsoring him through the Christian charity called Compassion. The effects of their work with poor children in Third World countries is amazing, and you can read more about it here.
